Cars at Prozorro.Sale auctions: two in three auctions fail, prices start at UAH 1,500

From 16 September to 15 October 2026, auctions for 330 vehicle lots were scheduled on Prozorro.Sale — passenger cars, trucks, buses, special machinery. 223 of them did not take place: mostly because fewer than two bidders registered. Where auctions did happen, prices barely rose: half of the lots sold at most about 5% above the start.
For buyers this is good news: there is little competition, and cars often go for the starting price.
What does not sell
Vehicles of state and municipal enterprises and customs offices sell worst: of 168 such auctions, 141 failed. Bankruptcy assets — 44 of 68. The reasons are clear: many vehicles are old or need repair, you have to arrange the viewing yourself, and the announcement needs careful reading.
A failed auction is not a disaster for the seller: the lot is relisted — often with a discount or as a Dutch auction where the price drops in steps. Over the month six vehicle lots sold below the starting price, by 45% on average.
What is on offer now
As of 16 October, 173 vehicle lots are accepting applications, 94 of them with a starting price under UAH 50,000. 90 lots are repeat auctions or discounted, 25 are Dutch. Auctions are on average 12 days away.
Most lots are in the Mykolaiv (48) and Rivne (38) regions. Much of it is a sell-off of machinery of two road companies in bankruptcy and rehabilitation: the Mykolaiv regional road enterprise (41 of 48 lots) and the Rivne one (19 of 38) — trucks, dump trucks, BelAZ haulers, chip spreaders, bitumen boilers, a few passenger cars.
Other sellers include:
- the State Food and Consumer Service in the Vinnytsia region — 10 lots;
- Ukrposhta — 9;
- the municipal sanatorium complex Elektronik-Rivne — 8;
- the Luhansk regional prosecutor’s office — 6;
- Odesa customs — 5;
- Ukrzaliznytsia’s TsTL branch and the Sandora company — 4 each;
- Raiffeisen Bank — 3.
The cheapest passenger cars
- VAZ 21061, 1999 — UAH 1,500, Odesa customs, auction on 2 November;
- VAZ 2107 — UAH 2,296, Rivne oblavtodor (rehabilitation), 6 November;
- VAZ 21061, 1999 — UAH 2,550, Odesa customs, 21 October;
- Chevrolet Cavalier, 1997 — UAH 3,450, Odesa customs, 2 November;
- Chery Tiggo — UAH 5,564, the state Centre for Forensic Examination and Expert Research, Kyiv region, 6 November.
Such a price is not a mistake: it is the residual value of old or damaged vehicles. Before applying, read the lot documents (condition, completeness, whether the car can be registered) and arrange a viewing.
The month’s biggest sales
- A NEFAZ bus from Ukrtransnafta — UAH 690,001 from a start of 97,440: the price rose sevenfold.
- 17 Ukrposhta vehicles in one lot — UAH 655,555 from a start of 276,505.
- 33 Ukrposhta vehicles in one lot — UAH 418,975, below the start of 558,634: the price had time to drop in a Dutch auction.
- Machinery of the Dnipro city road repair enterprise — UAH 1.5 million from a start of 1.04 million.
The takeaway: interesting lots get snapped up, while ordinary old cars often wait for a second and third sale attempt — and get cheaper.
